Fair Isle Vest Workshop - Vementry
Description
Ready to dive in to knitting a Fair Isle Vest, and want some help for the scary bits? Let's do it!
In this class, we will knit the Vementry Vest, by Mary Jane Mucklestone. This class will take you through the entire process, from choosing yarn, to steeking, to finishing, in 6 classes, held over 10 weeks. The class will be co-taught by Destiny and Katie, so you will have plenty of expertise to draw from, and lots of personal attention. Join us, and make a beautiful, heirloom quality garment for the cooler weather.
In this class we will cover:
- color choice for Fair Isle colorwork
- swatching
- determining size and adjusting for gauge
- color dominance
- steeking
- finishing
Classes will be on Tuesday evenings, from 6-7:30, on the following dates:
September 10th; September 17th; October 8th; October 29th; November 12th; November 19th.
The Vementry Vest is a unisex style, with sizing up to 61.5" chest. Please purchase the pattern directly from the designer (links available on her website).
Note: this is an intermediate-to-advanced class. The Vementry Vest is a great introduction to Fair Isle, but this should not be your first colorwork project, as we will not be teaching colorwork knitting skills. It will be helpful if you have knit at least one sweater or vest. If you want to check with us about whether this class will work for you, please don't hesitate to reach out.
**Classes are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled or rescheduled, or if we can fill your spot from a waitlist. Please sign up for classes you know you can attend.
