Beginning Spinning

If Rumplestiltskin or the Swan Princess were your idols growing up, we’ve got a class for you! Work your way from drop spindle to finished 2ply yarn in three weeks. This class will teach you the basics of drafting, spinning, plying, and setting the twist. You’ll finish the class with a skein of 2ply handspun yarn and the foundational skills of spinning.

Required tools:

-Drop spindle. Bring your own or purchase one from us. Enrolled students receive 10% off the cost.

-Spinning wheel with 3 bobbins. Bring your own working wheel* or rent one for the duration of the class. Click here for wheel rental.

To ensure that our classes remain accessible to as many students as possible, every class taught by Kasteyl, our spinning instructor, has a spot available on a sliding scale.
