Description

***Class sessions will be held inside. Masks are encouraged but not required for this class.***

Learn to knit in the round using the magic loop technique! Does using double-pointed needles intimidate you, or does it make you feel like you're fighting a pointy octopus? You might like magic loop instead!

The class project will be a free basic hat pattern from Purl Soho. Make the baby size in class to practice all the techniques, or make a larger size and take it home to practice.

This is an intermediate class: you should already know how to cast on, knit, purl, and do decreases. These techniques will not be covered in this class. It's great if you have knit in the round before, but it is not required.

In this class you will learn:
Casting on for magic loop
Joining in the round
Managing your cable and turns in magic loop
Managing stitch markers in magic loop
Decreasing to understand how magic loop functions down to the fewest stitches

Materials
80-100 yds of chunky to bulky weight yarn (if knitting adult large)
40” size 11 cable needle
One stitch marker

Class fee does not include supplies. Registered students receive a 10% discount on supplies for the class.
