Ready to try your hand(s) at stranded colorwork? Sure you are! In this class we will help you learn or practice colorwork as you knit the Cherry Fizz Hat, designed by Kate Atherley. It's a perfect pattern for learning - in fact, she planned it that way!

In this class we will cover: general information about colorwork knitting, how to hold and manage two colors of yarn, how to read a colorwork chart, and how to knit the Cherry Fizz Hat, including decreasing in pattern and finishing.

Note the schedule! This class meets for three weeks - the first two classes are one week apart, and then there is a week break before the third class.

Prerequisites: You should be comfortable with knitting basics and with knitting in the round. 

Class supplies: 

  • Cherry Fizz Hat, available on Payhip or Ravelry
  • US 6 (4mm) - 16" circulars, long circulars for magic loop, or double-pointed needles for brim
  • US 8 (5mm)- 16" circulars and double-pointed needles, or long circulars for magic loop for body and crown
  • Worsted weight yarn,  200 yards (185 m) total - approx 100 yds each in two contrasting colors

Class fee does not include supplies. Registered students receive a 10% discount on supplies for the class.
