Clasped Warp and Weft Weaving
Just a clasp to the left...learn how to warp with two or more colors in a clasped warp technique, then follow it up with clasped weft! We’ll learn how to choose the correct yarn for your project, warp, and weave! In this class we’ll make delightful felted coasters.* Bring your own yarn or purchase a kit hand dyed by Seattle Sky Dyeworks (available at class time).
Prerequisite: Rigid Heddle Weaving Basics, or basic weaving experience
Materials List:
- Rigid Heddle loom
- (1) 7.5 (ish) DPI Heddle
- (2) 125 yards of sport weight untreated (feltable) wool (minimum 2 colors, 250 yards total) - ask us about options, or purchase a Felted Coaster Kit by Seattle Sky Dyeworks when you come to class
- Scissors
- 6-12” Stick Shuttle
- Complete warping setup for your loom (clamps, hooks, warping peg, warping paper, etc)
- Notebook & pen for taking notes (optional)
*Students will warp their looms in class and get started with the project. Students will felt their projects at home.
Class fee does not include materials. Registered students receive a 10% discount on yarn purchased for the class.
