No-Sew Woven Hat
Description
***This class will be held inside. Masks will be required. Thank you!***
Loaded with a single skein of yarn and a TON of scraps, you too can create a no sew hat using the Saori method of weaving on a rigid heddle loom. It’s the ultimate scrap buster, and a way to flex those creative muscles.
Prerequisite: Weaving basics, ability to warp a loom independently, ability to weave tabby (plain weave) independently.
Materials List:
- Loom with a weaving width of 12-14” MINIMUM
- 7.5-10 DPI Heddle
- STRONG, SMOOTH warp, I highly recommend an 5/2-8/4 cotton warp, 230 yards approx
- Pile o’ scraps for weft! Now is your chance to get creative. Different weights, fibers, beads, novelty yarn, locks, whatever you’ve got!
- Scissors
- Measuring tape
Note: You must have your own loom for this class. Looms and accessories (reeds, shuttles, etc) may be purchased at the shop. Please check early about any supplies you need, as inventory and supply-chain issues can affect availability.
Looms *may* be available to rent for this class. Please contact us to inquire about a rental.
Looms must be warped prior to class - warping available for an additional fee. Contact us for details/costs.
Class fee does not include materials. Registered students receive a 10% discount on yarn purchased for the class.
Please note: Classes are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled or rescheduled. Please sign up for classes you know you can attend.
